Áridos de Melo has participated in the paving of the construction project of the Madrid City Council plot intended for recharging electric vehicle batteries.

In the execution of the paving, sustainable materials have been used throughout the thickness of the pavement package. Subbases of recycled gravel from RCDs (mixed type II and concrete) have been used; lean concrete compacted with a roller, which consumes 50% less water; bituminous mixtures with pretreated rubber additive from NFUs (out-of-use tires).

The objective of Áridos de Melo's innovation in the project was to reduce the overexploitation of mining deposits; reduce water consumption and increase recycling of waste that is difficult to reuse. Without a doubt a true example of a circular economy.
